Baptism

I was moved to paint my Baptism series after seeing photographs of baptisms from 1934. Back then they were done outside in a river and the idea of a ceremonial cleansing in nature really struck a cord with me. There was something truly pure and artistic about the photos so I took bits and pieces of each photo and used that inspiration to create this series. Although a modern day baptism is not usually done outdoors the deep meanings behind it remain the same, which is why I feel that this series was and is still so special to my amazing clients who have it hanging on their walls today.
